I want to come! Where do your events take place?
Babble Talks runs on a monthly basis at various London venues - The Bedford in Balham, George IV in Chiswick, Crouch End Picturehouse, The East Dulwich Picturehouse and The Collab, Walthamstow..
What time are your events on?
Starting in November 2019, most of our events will begin at the new time of 11am, with the exception of The Bedford in Balham. Doors will be open at thirty minutes before the event start time, so you can come along, get settled and grab yourself a drink if you'd like one. The talk will start promptly at 11am (or 11.30am at The Bedford) and run for an hour.
Will there be space for my buggy?
Please see the venue page for specific access information and get in touch if you're unsure. If you're into babywearing, bringing your baby in a sling would be ideal.
The upstairs room at The Bedford in Balham can be accessed by a lift but there's only space for one buggy at the time, so if you can use the stairs, all the better (you can leave your buggy downstairs, use a sling or one of our helpers can assist you with carrying the buggy upstairs)..
The Boston Room at The George IV, Chiswick is on the ground floor of the pub and has plenty of space for buggy parking!
The East Dulwich Picturehouse and Crouch End Picturehouse have plenty of space for storing your buggy, and the screens are on the ground floor, but buggies do have to be left outside the screen.
At The Collab in Walthamstow, buggies can't be kept by your side during the event, but the venue operate a 'buggy valet' system for your buggy to be securely stored during the talk.
My baby is over one year old. Can I bring them along?
We're afraid not. We have limited space and we want our events to be focused primarily on parents. For all of the joys they bring, once babies are over 1, they tend to require attention and resources that we aren't set up for. Sorry!
I'm coming with multiples, how will I manage?
We're here to help however we can! Contact us in advance on babbletalks@gmail.com to let us know you're coming. If you let us know in advance, we'll make sure we have space set up to accommodate you and we will have helpers on hand to assist. If there's anything else we can do to make the experience as pleasant and stress-free as possible, let us know!
Do I need to book a ticket in advance?
Buying a ticket in advance is cheaper and guarantees you a spot! But unless the website says that the event is sold out, tickets will also be available on the door. Sales of advanced tickets via Hoop and Ticket Tailor (through our website) close one hour before the start of the event. If you're planning to pay on the door, check our social media and website before you travel on the day, to avoid disappointment.
Where can I book a ticket?
Tickets are available via Ticket Tailor and Hoop! Advance ticket sales close one hour before the event starts.
Will there be food and drink available?
Yes! The venues will be serving drinks during the event and food will be available afterwards. We always hang around and socialise after and you are positively encouraged to join us! If your baby is eating solids, feel free to bring along whatever they will need.
Do you have baby-changing facilities?
Yes, we do! All our venues have plenty of baby-changing facilities.
I've bought a ticket but now I can't make it. Can I get a refund?
We're afraid not. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. However, you can pass your ticket on to a friend.
What if my baby gets upset during the event?
We know how unpredictable babies can be! But don't worry - everyone is free to move around and do whatever they need to, during the event. You can breastfeed, bottle feed, get up and walk around, do whatever you need to do. We find that the babies tend to like watching the slides on the projector...
What is the format of the event?
Once they've been introduced, our speakers talk for around 30 minutes. This is followed by a unique Babble interactive section, which allows everyone a shift of focus and a bit of fun. There is time for questions from the audience too. The entire event takes around an hour! There isn't a formal break but you're welcome to move around at any point.
I don't have a baby. Can I still come along?
You'd be most welcome! There's an option on the booking link to book an 'adult only' ticket.
Can Babble Talks come to a venue near me?
